ESL Pro League Season 14 has an off day with the Playoffs Round 1 set to begin on Tuesday. To tide us over until the top teams are back in action, DraftKings is offering a slate of Pinnacle Fall Series 1 matches. Because this is just a 1-day filler slate, I’m going to provide my Notes Sheet and Player Sheet with just a brief slate analysis. On Sunday, September 6, 2021, DraftKings is offering a 2 match CS:GO slate with a lock at 9:00am ET. Here is my ‘Notes Sheet’ for this slate.
Match Breakdown & Building Lineups
Endpoint (-165) has already beat AGO (+125) in group play. EP is the top seed in the playoffs and they are my lean. BOROS ($11.4/$7.6) and CRUC1AL ($12.9/$8.6) are #2 and #3 respectively when looking at event player rating. Salaries on this slate are loose, so we will have no problem getting both these players in, with one of them at captain.
The second match has a bigger betting favorite, as Dignitas (-185) play a Round 1 match against Galaxy Racer (+145). These teams were in the middle of the pack of the playoff pecking order, both finishing group play with 3-1 records. The DIG (#57) loss came to 1WIN (#38) while GR (#72) lost to EP (#26). On a 2 match slate, I like gambling on an underdog, and I feel like GR has a better chance to upset than AGO. GR is my lean.
In both Cash contests (50/50s, Double Ups) and multi-entry GPP contests, I’m going to be building 3-3 lineups from EP and GR players. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of 2 match slates, so I’m going light. I’ll likely steer clear of cash contests and build 2 or 3 GPP lineups. One of those, I will take DIG over GR, just to have a piece of them mixed in to my total entries.
Player Pool
These are players I am considering in cash and GPP lineups, along with my preferred captain plays. When constructing lineups, make sure to follow one of the strategies laid out in the Building Lineups section above.
